THE CUP COLLECTIVE

 

THE CUP COLLECTIVE is an exhibition celebrating the ceramic cup as one of the most personal and enduring objects of everyday life.

Bringing together ceramic artists, potters, designers and makers from across Victoria, the exhibition presents a collective snapshot of contemporary cup making. From wheel-thrown forms to sculptural vessels, functional tableware to experimental works, each cup represents an individual approach to material, form and craftsmanship.

We invite makers to submit 1-3 existing ceramic cups that best represents their practice.

Functional or sculptural, traditional or experimental, every interpretation of the ceramic cup is welcome with a nod to unique glazes.

    Cup Submission By:

    • Victorian ceramicists only.

    • Open to professionals, emerging designers and students.

    • Ceramicists retain full copyright and ownership of their submitted work.

    • Submitted works must be original and represent the artist's own creative practice and should demonstrate originality and individual authorship. Designs that are wholly or predominantly generated using artificial intelligence without substantial creative input from the artist will not be accepted.

    • The exhibition organisers reserve the right to decline any submission that does not meet the exhibition brief, infringes upon the intellectual property of another artist or designer, or is deemed to be predominantly AI-generated.

    • By submitting a work, artists grant R L Foote Design Studio a non-exclusive licence to photograph, film and reproduce images of the submitted work for exhibition, promotional, educational, archival and publication purposes. This includes use across printed materials, social media, websites and future exhibition documentation.

    • All participating artists will be fully credited wherever their work is exhibited, published or reproduced in connection with the exhibition.
